The men and women of the Somerville Auxiliary Police Department (SAPD) have been
serving the citizens of Somerville for 65 years, beginning in 1942. Today, the SAPD is a
recognized leader in volunteer policing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We
consider our organization to be amongst the best managed Auxiliary Police Force
anywhere in the state.
